Our goal is to help you develop habits in your home that help your family grow spiritually. To support that development,Timberview offers the Faith Legacy Series for children of all ages through 6th grade.

The Series is scheduled twice a year (spring and fall) for all ages/grades through 4th grade. The camp-out for 5th and 6th graders is typically offered in the spring.

Here is what you may expect when you participate in a Faith Legacy Step:

• A class with other parents about how to bless your child with helpful spiritual habits
• A public ceremony in which a blessing is spoken
• Your child receives an object with symbolic significance to be kept in his/her faith chest. This helps the family remember how they grow spiritually.

Faith Legacy Steps

The Faith Legacy series is set up in the following steps:

Nursery-Age:

Anyone who has a baby under two years of age is invited to participate, whether or not the baby has been, or will be, dedicated. This class is to inspire, teach and help you, as parents, to pass on your faith to your baby. This is one Friday evening class (parents only) for 2-3 hours. This is followed by a Sunday morning blessing for the babies and families. At the time of dedication, the babies will be given a Faith Chest.

2- to 3-Year Olds:

This class is for parents of toddlers and will concentrate on the child's first view of God's Word. This is one Friday evening class (parents only) for 2-3 hours. This is followed by a Sunday morning blessing to the toddler by the parents. Then the congregation will bless the child and the family. A picture Bible will be given to each child, and may be kept in the Faith Chest, if they have one.

4- to 5-Year Olds:

This class will concentrate on helping parents of 4- to 5-year olds develop their children as a seeking worshippers. This will be one Friday night class (parents only) for 2-3 hours. This is followed by a blessing of the children by their parents on a Sunday morning and then a blessing by the congregation. Each child will be given a worship kit, consisting of a prayer cloth and a worship CD, which may be kept in the Faith Chest, if the child has one.

1st and 2nd Graders:

This class is for parents of 6-7 year olds and will concentrate on servanthood. This is a Friday night class (parents only) for 2-3 hours and will be followed by a blessing of the child by the parents in the service on Sunday morning. The congregation will also bless the family. The child will be given a towel and basin to remind them of Christ serving us and to serve one another, which may be kept in the Faith Chest, if the child has one.

3rd and 4th Graders:

This class is for parents of an 8-9 year old and will concentrate on helping your child in the reading of God's Word. This is a Friday night class (parents only) for 2-3 hours. This is followed by a Sunday morning blessing of the child by the parents and then a blessing by the congregation. The child will be given a children's Bible to keep in the Faith Chest, if the child has one.

5th and 6th Graders:

This is a Friday night and Saturday camp-out with your child and will concentrate on God's plan for a young man or woman. The girls and boys will be separated for part of the time for discussion. The boys will be given a baton for strength and the girls will be given a necklace for purity in thought and deed.
